English As A Second Language Teacher

Would you like to teach English as a second language? Would you like to aid fellow Spanish-speaking students to better learn the English language and gain valuable experience? Our mission is to promote self-sufficiency and the successful integration of any Hispanic Americans or any new Americans who are legal residents and seeking US Citizenship. Our organization is dedicated to promoting and ensuring the success of Hispanics and any new Americans through the US systems and to facilitate and strengthen their education and enhance the City of Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, and the State of Maryland labor force. To aid with this integration of Hispanic Americans, one of the most important things for the Hispanic Americans to do is to learn the English language. Learning a second language can be a very difficult process. To acclimate to American society with smooth transitioning, your help would be greatly needed to help in the process of learning English.

Responsibilities

  • Aid Spanish speaking Americans with the English vocabulary
  • Assist Spanish speaking Americans with formal and informal American greetings and gestures
  • Assist in helping Spanish speakers with universally understood English forms of speech and their meaning.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Some College attended (preferred but not required)
  • Proficient English skill
  • Self-motivated, focused
  • Patience and ability to work with others

K-12 Saturday Tutor

Do you need service learning hours or volunteer hours and want to have fun? Do you like spending time helping kids succeed with their grade school subjects? Our mission is to promote self-sufficiency and the successful integration of any Hispanic Americans or any new Americans who are legal residents and seeking US Citizenship. Our organization is dedicated to promoting and ensuring the success of Hispanics and any new Americans through the US systems and to facilitate and strengthen their education and enhance the City of Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, and the State of Maryland labor force. With your help, many children that are in contact with us can receive the educational assistance they need to help with their integration to US culture.

Responsibilities

  • Tutor children, any age from kindergarten to 12th grade, on their subjectss
  • Aid includes: a) Study tips, b) Homework help.

Qualifications

  • Currently High School or High School Diploma, GPA of at least 2.5
  • Some College attended (preferred but not required)
  • Basic educational knowledge (math, science, social studies, history, etc)
  • Self-motivated, focused
  • Good with kids

Social Media Coordinator

Do you have any sort of education or skill in designing and maintaining websites but haven’t got any experience? Would you like to learn more about the Hispanic Population and help an organization in the process, as well as gain valuable hands-on experience? Our mission is to promote self-sufficiency and the successful integration of any Hispanic Americans or any new Americans who are legal residents and seeking US Citizenship. Our organization is dedicated to promoting and ensuring the success of Hispanics and any new Americans through the US systems and to facilitate and strengthen their education and enhance the City of Annapolis, Anne Arundel County, and the State of Maryland labor force. As the world has increasingly become web and internet-driven, our organization would need a consistent updater on our web site as well as our social network pages. This great volunteer opportunity as a social media coordinator requires no former job experience and will greatly add to your resume.

Responsibilities

  • Add important information of the Centro De Ayuda website.
  • Update the website on a regular basis
  • Keep our Facebook and Twitter accounts up-to-date with whoever follows/likes us

Qualifications

  • Currently High School or High School Diploma, GPA of at least 2.5
  • Some College attended (preferred but not required)
  • Any web developing experience or education
  • Basic computer knowledge (word, excel, etc)
  • Self-motivated, focused
